As it relates the the internet, content theft can be defined as using material from a website, whether it be text, images, video, or music, without permission on another site. This is a common problem plaguing bloggers and webmasters alike. A site such as contenttheft.com could be utilized to educate the public on how to prevent content theft. Posting information on the course of action to be taken when one feels that their site has been plagarized would be an invaluable resource for the webmasters of the world.
This is a no

If you don't "get" the value in this domain then you've never had a blog. With all the scraper sites on the net, content theft has become a huge problem. A website that searches for exact duplicate content to your site and lets you know that someone else is copying your site word for word would be huge. I've given you the idea now you just need a good name. Oh yeah, how about contenttheft.com. Anything under a grand is a steal

A brick and mortar business owner for 15 years, I've been preparing my online assault for the last ten. In real life I grow plants for a living but in the domain world I specialize in garden and plant related domain names. I have also been acquiring high quality 5 letter domain names as well. They say invest in what you know and I know plants, but now I also know domains. Like all domain owners I soon learned the business and have been buying and selling domains and websites ever since. I believe you can brand anything but if you have to brand the domain the less valuable it is. Domains are not my living but I have made an extra 25K a year "goofing around" so I feel I have the experience and resume to provide honest advice. collapse

This one could be a steal, but you certainly wont make any quick bucks on this one I am afraid.
ContentTheft.com does what it says on the tin, so I'd guess a site to report site content theft would be the obvious option, however some clever development will be required to see a healthy ROI.

If I were to buy this domain I would aim to develop it into a major hub for users to report site content theft & offer prevention tips. Integrate that with a service like that of http://www.copyscape.com/ & you may just have a nice community hub with the chance to make a bit of cash in the longer term.
As for a price, I'd expect it to reach no higher than $300.
If I had time to develop this I would be in, alas I don't so good luck to the buyer.

When I think of this name, I am scratching my head pondering who would buy this darned name? Someone who was hopefully going to be wise and build it up to something that might have the potential to bring visitors. There is so much content theft out there that you'll be lucky if you are able to run a website without horrific drama. Or better yet, devise the website into a site that enables users to protect their content. There is definitely a demand for a service or a way to protect.

This is a keyword that will not attracts consumers but might attract copyright holders. Thats not a bad niche, and this would be a good generic name for a group of Intellectual Property lawyers.
On Bido, about $650

I have been appraising, registering, buying and selling domain names for over 10 years now. I am a co-owner of http://www.DnDoc.com, a site that specialises in rare one word dictionary domain names, mostly .coms.
I have an MBA and am currently undertaking an LLM, studying Intellectual Property on the Internet (I am not an attorney of law, nor am I training to be, but I feel that legal/TM issues are sometimes overlooked by domainers in the earlier years of their experience).

Although content theft is a problem, it is hard to prosecute anyone based on content from a website or even a newspaper. Unless this site is used for an app to prevent theft, I don't see it being used in our lexicon. There is a simple HTML code that prevents content theft.
I would say $500 - $600 if you build the site more.

This would be a wonderful place for a content-theft reporting website. There have been similar sites created for domain theft and copying the look and feel of other sites (sometimes even stealing the logo), so this domain would be right at home.
Unfortunately, I don't see any major value outside of development.

I have been buying and selling domains since 1999. I purchased my first domain for $30 and sold it two weeks later for $400. After that, I was hooked. It didn't take long for me to realize there was much money to be made in a virtually untapped market (the web). I focus on high quality acquisitions and development rather than flipping domains. However, I do occasionally sell premium domains to fund larger acquisitions. collapse

ContentTheft.com. Decent niche but the phrasing is a little awkward for me. Very little exact searches in Google (76). The .net and .org are registered and have some age to them (3+ years) and parked, but the .com is less than 1 year old, not a good sign. 350K exact search results with no advertisers on Google means that this phrase needs more context to drive revenue.
Because of the niche, it may draw some interest but requires hearty development to see success. I would be surprised if this one reached $100. Too many better options out... read more

I'm not too excited about this domain. The words a very good but you dont hear them together that often. I can see its intended use but just don't see mass appeal. I have always believed that although you have 2 or 3 generic words together in a domain it doesnt necessarly mean that its a fantastic domain. This domain has potential but would probably need to spend money and time promoting it. -AMGDomains.com
