This domain was previously attempted to be auctioned here at Bido. The traffic it generated brought the site down, but we are back now and much stronger.
Loans fall into one or another category. The two types are variable loans or fixed loans. A variable loan has a rate that varies over time, while a fixed loan has a rate that is fixed and does not float around.
This is a major financial term and we expect this domain to do very well.
Google's keyword tool reports over 22,000 searches for this exact term each month and over 200,000 searches for the term mixed with additional words.
This domain has been taken in most all of the major extensions.
No better time than now to launch a site on this domain name. Rather than a adjustable or a balloon type of loan, the fixed loan product is in demand and sought after by people who are loan shopping nowadays. The variable loans that were common in the past were to blame for many of the real estate troubles that occurred recently. The FixedLoans.com domain could also be built into a marketplace for banks and lenders to buy and sell the notes, or could also be built into a rate comparison & lead generation type site for consumers shopping for a loan.

FixedLoans.com was the domain name that was up for auction before Bido mysteriously crashed back in August '08. The last bid I recall seeing for FixedLoans.com was for $5,000. I have no idea what to expect this time around, but this is one auction you'll certainly want to be sure and tune in for.

On the plus side, fixed loans are on more peoples' wish lists now than when the original Bido auction took place. On the negative side, the domain market is down since then. (Not to mention the budgets of loan advertisers.) Which factor will win out? Tough call.

That said, I never really understood all of the hoopla about this domain the first time through. I know very few people who refer to loans as "fixed rate". But maybe I just don't hang out with the right people -- Google "fixed rate" and you'll get 10 million results and lots of ads. collapse

None the less that is big compared to the majority of domain names out there for sale. Also the overture/mo 8350, not a huge some but is worth something. The thing i do not like about the stats would be the wordtracker is only at 5 and the traffic seems to be minimal.
This name appears to not ever been developed which in return would be great for the buyer. Put up a simple mini-site with relevant info and reap the benefits of the MAX PPC which is $16.18! Wow that is a great number and whoever picks this up is sure to get a bargain if they plan on putting a mini-site up."
Blogged about the name back when it crashed bido. Those are my opinions and my stance has not changed. Would like to see this name go for much more than it has been valued but given the market, i see it going for much less. Who knows i may be wrong ;)! collapse

This domain will be an absolute bear to develop. I suspect type-in traffic is low, so you will need to focus on building backlinks and coming up with a plan which separates you from every other loan operator on the web.
Your best bet would be to grab this in auction (here at Bido) and sit on it for a couple years (reseller). Perhaps hit up some of the bigger home loan/mortgage houses. Bottom line, you will spend a ton more money in development than it is worth. If you have money to... read more

Based upon my scale of worth, I believe this domain is worth between $10,000 and $25,000. In this economy the domain might actually do well, if you can get search engine traction or perhaps establish a site and lease out ad space.

At first glance this looks like a great domain given the current media focus on home loans. However, it is absolutely essential to know if the keywords that comprise the domain are frequently found together.
I like the use the example of two very popular keywords "taxes" and "freedom". If you type in "taxes" (in quotes) on Google you will find 158 million results, "freedom" returns 246 million - these are very popular keywords. Put them together and try a search for "freedom taxes"... read more

Put them together and try a search for "freedom taxes" and only 10,000 relevant pages are found.
I believe this is the main problem with this domain - it has two strong keywords "fixed" and "loans" which would be much more valuable associated with a different keyword. "carloans" or "homeloans" would be far more valuable keyword pairs than "fixedloans". With only 600,000 relevant results on Google this is not a frequently used keyword pair.
While you won't get much type-in traffic - there is always development potential since the domain has two strong keywords in the title. With a well-built, SEO-savvy site a domainer could use these keywords to their advantage. collapse

The first thing I am struck by upon seeing this domain is how relevant it is in today's market. After a flood of dangerous adjustable rate mortgages resulting in a near recession, stability is a key to both businesses and consumers.
Fixed rate loans are the most sought after commodity in the new economy and FixedLoans.com is a prime mover for this target audience. With Overture/Google bidding over $15 for this keyphrase you know that deep pockets will be jumping in for some action.

There is nothing more sought after by people with adjusting mortgages than a fixed loan. I don't get the 'rate' argument. When you ask what kind of loan you want, the response is a 'fixed' one. Why? Because I don't want an 'adjustable' one. 'rate' is understood in the language IMO.
