I am sold, there is nothing better than flipping on the television at 2 am in the morning and watching girls gone wi.....Woops, sorry about that when I think of infomercials I tend to think about the wide array of media spectacles pushing product to us via our televisions. Believe it or not the television is still a tremendous force when it comes to selling products. What better way to converge the two mediums and provide people with an easy way to order online what they may of missed! I like the domain name a great deal and am a huge fan of the .info domain.

First Thoughts: One Word, Good extension, would need development for true potential.
This domain would be a great for a developed sites gathering all the INFO from INFOmercials. One site where you could get links, watch videos, even buy the products sold on the infomercials. That would be prime pickings for an affiliate site.
Here is some info I found on WikiPedia:
"When they first appeared, infomercials were most often screened in the United States and Canada during late-night/early morning hours. As stations have found value in airing at other times, by 2008 a large portion of infomercial spending is early morning, daytime, early prime and even prime time. There are also entire networks devoted to just airing infomercials all day and night for the sole purpose of cable/satellite providers receiving revenue from the channel operator from any sales for their area, or to fill empty time on local programming channels. CNBC, which airs only one hour of infomercials nightly during the business week, airs up to 28 hours of infomercials on Saturdays and Sundays during the time where the network's business news coverage otherwise airs. A comparison of television listings from 2007 with 1987 verifies that many broadcasters in North America now air infomercials in lieu of syndicated TV series reruns and movies, which were formerly staples during the more common hours infomercials are broadcast (i.e., the overnight hours). Infomercials are a near-permanent staple of ION Television's daytime and overnight schedules; multichannel providers such as DirecTV have objected in the past to carrying ION feeds which consist largely of paid programming"
The Infomercial market is there and from what I researched seems to be growing very nicely. This domain would make for a great addition to any portfolio.
Think About It: If you plan to bid on this domain you might as well put in a pre-bid. I mean 2% cashback is decent on any purchase... collapse

I bought my first domain for $8, sold it within 72 hours for $500. I put the $8 back in my pocket and have operated in the black (positive) every since. I have a portfolio of a few hundred domains. My Portfolio is divided in 3 categories; Flips, Development, and Investment. The Flips category pays the bills for all the other domains, the development domains are for me to play with, and the investment portion is what I consider to be my retirement, on top of my IRA, 401K, etc.
I am a firm believer that the domain market is a secure investment with ALOT of room for growth and potential. Granted, the days of hand-regging one word domains and 3L.coms are over BUT ANYONE can make a name for themselves in this business with $8, a passion to learn, and time to dedicate.
This economy has provided a two fold experience for domainers, for some it is a time that portfolios must be skimmed down for financial reasons, for others it is a time to buy domains they couldn't of touched 2 years ago..
I am fortunate to be one of the investors who can buy in this current market. So that is what I am doing at the moment, a little development and a lot of buying.. collapse

The longer you've been in domaining, the greater importance and understanding you place on liquidity. The break-even liquidity for .infos in the future is challenging, especially when/if new, vanity urls are created starting as early as Q1 next year.
I also see very little development in the .info space (minimal SEO/credibility benefits), but despite these argmuents, it's truly an excellent keyword and ripe for branding at a minimum.

If you've read any of my past reviews, you'll know I'm not a big fan of the .info extension. Still true with this domain. Searching for infomercials in Google yielded 1.2m results...not bad. But, there are a couple of Trademarks in the US with the word infomercial in them.
I suppose if you developed this site as the end all be all for reviews of products in infomercials that you could be on to something, but there's already competetion out there so you'd have to study, plan, and overcome to make this site successful.

While I am not very fond of any .Info domain names, this one may be a winner. With Infomercials.info, you can easily use it to promote a package teaching people how to sell infomercials. This would be perfect for a MLM related service. At this moment in our economy, I would say it is worth $500-$1,000. On top of that, .Info domain names are not as established in general as .Coms and .Nets. But in the long term, give or take five to ten years, I think this domain name can easily be worth $5,000 or more.

As I have previously commented we own a good stock of generic .infos but they are to be valued after .com, .org and .net and few of the country codes, certainly .co.uk and .de. Certainly, I think they offer more than other .wannabes though.
The keyword is great and searched alot, presumably - given the volume - by people looking to view infomercials as well as get one made.

I am not sure about the two "info"s in this name. It might make it easier to remember or it might make people type in infomercial.com, or it could also help the identity of a potential website. I think this point will depend upon the usage of the name.
I would say about $750 would be reasonable for a reseller but it may go for more as it has excellent metrics and that is what we domainers like! collapse

This is a GREAT name for development or selling to the end crowd. People are often up at o dark thirty and they will be watching these infomercials but because they are so tired and such. They'll slightly forget about it temporarily. I see this being branded as a place where you can browse through all the infomercials already out there. Then having an affiliate link to buying from that infomercial.

Ok, enough about me. Assuming you want this domain name just for the "Infomercials.xxx" and don't care about the extension, I still see a lot of work behind it creating a info site about infomercials. And then wait? How long before you recoop that investment? With a lot more friendly names out there ending in .com, I can see this going for the low $$$ figures. And so far, I've been right almost everytime in my valuations.
On a good note, they aren't making land anymore like they say, but they are making more extensions for you to own. Toxic land fill anyone?
It's not often that a dot info matches its name, but here is a good one. Informercials.Info has a special appeal due to the nice branding opportunity that's here. I can see a large number of people getting involved and bidding on this one and driving the price point into the range of a 3 letter domain.

The infomercial industry started in the United States and that has led to the specific definitions of infomercials as direct response television commercials of specific lengths (:30, :60, :120 seconds; 5 minutes; or 28 minutes and 30 seconds). Infomercials have spread to other countries from the US. However, the term "infomercial" needs to be defined more universally to discuss use in all countries. In general, worldwide use of the term refers to a television commercial (paid programming) that offers product for direct sale to consumer via response through the web, by phone, or by mail.
There are few structures that apply everywhere in the international infomercial business. The regulatory environment in each country as well as that country's television traditions have led to variations in format, lengths, and rules for long form commercials and television commercials selling direct to consumer. For example, in the early 1990s long form paid programming in Canada was required to consist only of photographs without moving video. (This restriction no longer exists).
Many products which started in the US have been taken into international distribution on television. And, each country has local entrepreneurs and marketers using the medium for local businesses. What may be called infomercials are most commonly found in North and South America, Europe, Eastern Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
In many countries, the infrastructure of direct response television distributors, telemarketing companies and product fulfillment companies (shipping, customer service) are more difficult and these missing pieces have limited the spread of the infomercial.

Infomercials.info is an excellent one-word dictionary domain. Developing this domain is a sure-shot way of being successful. Just imagine all those infomercials clogging up the late night television -- and the number of people who search for that stuff on internet.

Don't believe me? Look into how popular Shamwow has become online and how many people are searching for it. If your site ranks for those keywords, you get a lot of sale-motivated traffic that is extremely valuable.
Not only can this site be converted into an Infomercial Database, providing information about various infomercials going on, but also can be developed into a site with infomercial videos embedded.
Another way you can bank from this domain is providing Infomercial Coaching. Businesses know the amazing results Infomercials produce and it is no wonder they want to do some of their own infomercial marketing. You can profit by linking to various information products that give a high affiliate payout.
In summary, it is a very interesting domain that you should be bidding on. collapse
I don't mean to repeat most of what is being said here, but I'm still not sure what to make of .info. We all know our extensions, but for some strange reason .info appeals to me more than other non-dot-coms out there. Alot of times it comes down to the domain name and what you can do for it in terms of development and branding down the road.

The search term "infomercials" on its own comes up more than 1.2 million times on Google, not counting other variations of it like "infomercials on tv", etc. Infomercials.com is parked, as is Infomercials.tv, so not much going on there. That makes for the perfect timing for development, regardless of the extension, I say.
I see the potential for a neat You Tube type project here. Best of luck to the seller and buyer.

Infomercials had a global monthly search volume of 49,500 with a local search volume in April of over 90,000. This is a strong keyword however not nearly as strong as "infomercial" which received a global search volume of over 200,000 and over 300,000 local search volume in April.

That being said, .info is the perfect TLD for this keyword as people looking for information about infomercials would definitely feel good visiting a .info domain!
Lots of development potential and could be very lucrative as a directory of informercial products. With a lot of advertiser competition it would just take the time to contact people already spending money to advertise for this expensive keyword.
I'd be surprised if this domain sells for under the $x,xxx range. collapse

While I love .info, the duplication of the word in this case is a bit of a turn off. I would have preferred Infomercials.TV for example. There's certainly value here though: Lots of products that are geared to sell in volume, lots of search potential for people moving from their living room to their computer to order that thing they saw on tv, lots of advertisers and plenty of end users to flip it to as well.

I like that it's taken in pretty much every conceivable extension as that helps the value out quite a bit. I don't think I'll bid on this one though because it's not really related to a specific type of product but more on the type of advertising, which while potentially lucrative, isn't the type of name I'm looking for personally. And of course there's the duplication of the word info... but I'm just repeating myself now :)
Whoever gets it will have a very nice name on their hands for what I would guess is likely to be just under $1000 unless those pitchmen start hanging out at bido! collapse
