Today.us is an extremely versatile domain name that has been taken in almost every extension but .us. This name would work great for a news or current events related site. Of course there is the obvious connection to NBC's Today Show. But the name certainly is not limited to that. Any current events theme or possibly even a history theme could work. "Today in History" could be effective. Don't miss your chance to snap up this versatile domain name!
This is a no
reserve auction and bidding starts at $1. If your pre-bid is over $100 and it wins the auction, you will get a 2% cashback bonus. You may place your pre-bid now to instantly get in on the action.
Good luck, and happy bidding!

One of the best names offered on Bido in recent weeks! The URL is a name in itself - the most obvious use would be for a media project, but definitely it is not limited to that purpose. It could very well be associated with some project in the print media, and not only online media. TODAY.US would make an excellent name for a magazine, for instance.
Today.us had been sold in Nov. 2006 for $ 3,600. In my opinion, it should go higher - although the fact that it is sold again might make speculators cautious.... read more

Today.us had been sold in Nov. 2006 for $ 3,600. In my opinion, it should go higher - although the fact that it is sold again might make speculators cautious. On the other hand, if somebody has a clear project or a specific end-user in mind, it would be worth investing in it.
Today.cc was sold a year ago for $619 - while I like .cc as a TLD, it cannot be compared in this case, since .us is a much stronger TLD for being associated with the word "today". collapse

Great domain name. Although I'm not all that thrilled with the .us extension, (.com is my favorite) this domain is a great one. Since we are no longer the USA, we're just the US, I would think that a potential buyer would be USAToday.com. Doing a search on the domain name itself in google, USA Today was the first organic listing.
Definitely a keeper though. I'd think low to mid x,xxx wholesale and much more for end user. Best of luck to you in this auction!

The fact that a keyword as strong as "today" has not been developed into something in the .us ccTLD explains what the problem is - users do not type in this extension because at present it usually leads to non-sites.
Unlike other country codes like .co.uk and .de, US users type .com/.net/org and .info and expect to find a site that will cater for them. .us thus has to compete with the strongest and most established TLDs.
Having said that, .us has its fan club and as stated above, "today" is a very strong keyword. If .us ever took off, then this domain name would be worth a great deal.
At present, the domain is on sale at sedo for $2,000 (11th Apr) and this would indicate to me that no one has offered this much yet. collapse

I'm not particularly thrilled with the .us extension. We Americans tend to think that the .com is ours and it'll be very hard to get us in the habit of using another extension. PPC value for this domain would be reg fee. With other Countries around the world using their cctld, people not from the US would probably be your largest audience. It could be developed as a portal site to things happening in the US, i.e. News, Weather, Vacation Deals, Airfare Deals, jobs, etc. It's really unlimited in a developed fashion. With development in mind, my max bid would be $1000.

Great generic one word domain. There are many services/companies that use "Today" as a name for a news service. Other uses can be: weather, historical commentaries and time management. Don't let the .us extension turn you off: it still has branding opportunity.

I won't try to give you an appraisal while commenting on Bido.com auctions; I am horrible at them. But what I can do is give you a development perspective on the chances of a domain succeeding.
I've been a freelance web developer since 2000. I work both the creative side (graphics) and technical (scripting). It originally started with graphic design being my strong point until I learned there is a creative logical process to scripting. So far, so good.
Further more, I don't know why my Bido picture was cropped to make me look like I have a bowl haircut. I assure you I do not.

This domain is GREAT!!! I love the word "TODAY". The extension would be better if it where DOT COM, but over all it should do well.
The word "today" directs you to so many places that the owner will do well with it. If you can develop this domain, it can show much profit. Good Luck!!!

Great word, terrible ending. I won't get into a long talk about all the TLDs but I think the .us kills it. I think todayus.com is even better than this one. I am very skeptical about putting too much money into these type of domains. To me its like a beautiful home in a bad neighborhood. The house is great but not enough people want to live there

The extension (.us) takes away a lot from this easy to recognize name. I think the lay person could hear the TLD extension over and over yet still type in '.Com' when they wish to visit the "Today" website. The fact that the name is easily recognizable presents the unfortunate circumstance that the TLD will be taken for granted. ".Com" will win out every time as far as branding goes.
The name may sound great because it's an everyday English word but in practice the TLD destroys it.

I first got into the domain name industry in 1998 when I saw a posting on a forum about Jon Postel (the father of the DNS) and how this thing called DNS worked. From that moment on I became hooked on the prospect of actually owning (renting really) a piece of the internet.
I have since bought and sold many domain names and have learned a few things about the industry. I'm still excited, though, about the prospect of stumbling upon that once in a lifetime domain name deal. collapse
